April Doubldeay is the first designer jeweller in the South West to be accredited for her ethical standards. She is one of only 20 jewellery designers nationwide to be pioneering Fairtrade and Fairmined (FTTM) gold.
She has been designing and making jewellery with ethically-sourced gold for five years and believes the formal identification of FTTM gold is a huge turning point in the industry.
In order to receive this accreditation, April has to be able to trace the gold from mine to refiner, through the manufacturer and jewellery to the customer, so in future all the gold that she uses in her ethical white and yellow gold enagagement and wedding ring collections will be certified with a stamp so the customer has a guarantee it has come from a socially and environmentally responsible mined way.
